What is neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback - the method of non-invasive biofeedback by which we train the brain to become more efficient.

All neurofeedback methods include EEG sensors that monitor your brain waves and a computer to send feedback back. There are different ways to receive this feedback. It may involve playing a game, listening to music, or watching a video.

Stimuli (game, music or video) only work when your brain waves will resonates within the set range.

They act as a reward for the brain. When the waves leave the set interval, you will receive negative feedback (the movie is interrupted, the music stops, etc.). This tells your brain that something is out of balance and causes it to "understand" how to get back to film, music, or play without problems. This can promote lasting structural changes in your brain.

The brain then works by doing so to function constantly in a more optimal interval outside the training sessions.

In this way neurofeedback can improve emotional control, concentration, memory, motor skills and more.

What physical values do we measure?

Brain waves are associated with different states. They are measured in Hertz cycles (Hz) per second and can change in a wide range of variables.

Neurofeedback does not specifically target any disorder. Instead, it changes the patterns of synchronization and activation in the brain.

The goal is to slowly guide your brain back to normal and healthy areas and reconnect the neural pathways that have been disconnected.

The result is an improvement in brain self-regulation, which in turn impacts a wide variety of symptoms.

Here is a list of symptoms that are presented in clinical research studies for which Neurofeedback may be effective:
